Youth Agri Food Dialogue

Posted April 3, 2024

The National Youth Food Forum hosted it first Youth Agri-food Dialogue on 3rd April 2024 at Airfield Estate, Dundrum, Dublin 14.

The dialogue was opened by Minister Pippa Hackett, Dept. of Agriculture, Food and the Marine, followed by an agri-food sector overview from Prof. Alex Evans. Key questions for the dialogue included balancing Ireland’s role as a major food producer with both domestic and international climate commitments, youth engagement with farming and rural economy, transparency and fairness in the agri-food supply chain, and how we can achieve good food for all, today and tomorrow.

The National Youth Food Forum is Ireland’s National Chapter of the World Food Forum. The Forum is open to all young people (18-35 years old) engaged in the agri-food systems in Ireland, from all backgrounds and areas of interest. Young people are essential in shaping a sustainable food system. The Forum is a space for young people in the sector to learn, collaborate, share knowledge and engage in policy processes.
